Happy Valentines Day

Cheetos and Cupcakes are ALWAYS a good choice! We also made Valentine Baloon shakers and "Love Potion" which the kids enjoy most! I just got little water bottles and had the kids put "fairy dust", (glitter) Love Bugs, (Sequins), potion that makes people fall in love, (Red food coloring) and mix it all together! The kids were so good and had a blast!! Our cupcakes were really good too!!! Alliyah enjoying her yummy cupcake!

Parents-

Please remember to leave all toys at home so they don’t cause any problems in class. Also, please try your best to be on time at drop off and pick up time.

We will be delivering a package to the post office for our field Trip this month. The post office won’t do tours for field trips anymore, so I won’t need a parent volunteer this week. We are just going to talk about what happens at the post office, then go there and mail off something. I will need everyones booster seats again! Thanks!

We are starting our Hooked on Phonics workbooks this week! The class has done so well in reading, I feel they are ready to take the next step! You guys have the smartest kids, and I love teachng them! I was unable to get assessments done this last week, so they will be sent home this Wednesday! Sorry I didn’t get them done sooner. We worked hard on Math last week. We will continue doing addition this month, and over the next few months, we will start on subtraction. Addition will be our main focus in Math right now. Some of your children struggle with numbers, so if I have talked to you about that, lets keep up the good work, and keep working away on that! If your child is srtuggling with writing, this is the most crucile part of School right now. Give your child pens , pencils, markers, whatever, and just let them scribble on paper. Surprisingly enough, it teaches them how to write better, and how to control their writing untensil! Everyone has improved so much and I am so proud of where they are at! Each and everyone of them is doing excellent no matter what they may stuggle with!

As many of you know, I am going to continue teaching! I’m very excited about it, and just don’t feel ready to stop teaching yet! I will only be teaching 3 year olds and 4 year olds. If your child won’t be attending Preschool in the fall, I cannot guaruntee your child a spot in the summer class. If I do have room after enrolling new students, I will post a notice. I am enrolling this month, so if you are interested let me know ASAP. My 3 year old class is almost full. The days and times will be switched around a little to make teaching work around Mykelle’s school schedule. The days will be Tuesday and Thursday through the summer, and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday when the fall session starts! Like every year, the curriculum will be changed, but teaching standards will be the same ! All referrals will receive $25 off their tuition. Also, for anyone who might be thinking of referring anyone, 4 year olds will have to apply for preschool since I teach a more advanced curriculum. If you are going to keep your child in my class, you will have to fill out a new enrollment sheet, and pay a $30 enrollment fee.

For our Valentine’s Party, we will be making cupcakes, decorating them, doing a few crafts, and lots of other fun things! Please decorate a box or bag for your child to collect their Valentines in! Please let me know when your child’s binder starts to get too full. I have a second binder for them! Remember to go over their binders with them practicing letters, letter sounds, shapes, and numbers. They are all doing so well, I want to keep them on track.

Have a lovely month!

Love, Mrs. Melissa
